Shipping & Deliveries

Shipping within South Africa

Our deliveries are focused mainly towards our immediate geographical areas within the Western Cape, but our fees provide for shipping within the whole of South Africa.  Shipping outside of the Western Cape would normally imply additional delivery days and charges if compared with local deliveries.

All orders placed with a total order value of over R750 and under 30kg (volumetrically), to all towns within the Western Cape, will be shipped free of charge.

All items with a large volumetric weight (eg. Dog beds) will may attract a charge rate instead of being shipped free of charge to destinations within Cape Town and surrounding areas.

We will try our best to ensure that the system restricts shipping appropriately in this regard, but such is not always possible.

Should your order be for such an item to a shipping address, we may give you the choice of cancelling the order for a full refund or paying any additional shipping costs which may be due for the order due to its large volumetric mass.

Exceptions

Outlying Areas

We do what we can to get your order anywhere in South Africa but some areas are very poorly serviced by couriers who charge additional charges to service those areas through special deliveries. These “surcharges” unfortunately make it not economically feasible for us to offer free shipping to these locations.

If you live in one of these areas (or another where the courier indicates the surcharge is applicable after the fact), please note that we will unfortunately be unable to ship to you, unless you are prepared to cover the surcharge applicable.

We may also not be able to indicate that the surcharge is applicable when you place your order. If you go ahead and place your order, we may advise you after the fact that the surcharge is applicable and give you the option of either cancelling your order for a full refund, or paying the surcharge applicable whereafter we would be happy to ship your order to you.

We apologise for this state of affairs, but we live in a big country of vast distances and sadly, the ecommerce business model doesn’t work for all of them.

Items over 30kg

Orders over 30kg will be shipped at our discretion. This includes orders to any destinations.

International Shipping

Pet Aquaria is a South African website and as such, we mostly only ship within South Africa. If you see something on the website which you wish to purchase and which you cannot obtain in your country, please email us with your requirements and contact details and we will see if we can accommodate you.
